Accessibility
Our commitment to a site everyone can use
We want everyone to be able to browse, choose and buy on this site, regardless of disability or the technology they use. Accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a one-off project, and we welcome feedback when we fall short.
What we are working towards
Our target is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. We review new pages against that standard and fix issues we find, but we know parts of the site do not yet fully meet it.
Measures we take
- Semantic HTML headings and landmarks so screen readers can navigate the structure of a page.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images, and empty alt attributes for purely decorative ones.
- A visible keyboard focus indicator, and interactive controls that can be reached with the keyboard alone.
- Form fields with real labels rather than placeholder-only text.
- Colour combinations chosen for contrast, and information never conveyed by colour alone.
- Page layouts that reflow and remain usable when the browser is zoomed to 200 percent.
- Support for operating-system settings such as reduced motion.
Known limitations
Some third-party content we embed — for example payment provider frames or shipped product data supplied by brands — is outside our direct control and may not fully meet the same standard. Where we find a problem in third-party content we raise it with the provider, and we will always offer an alternative way to complete a purchase.
Telling us about a problem
If you come across a barrier on this site, please tell us:
Please describe the page and what went wrong, and tell us which browser, device and assistive technology you were using if you can. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within 5 business days and to give you a timeline for a fix or a workable alternative.
